Depression

This mood disorder results in a feeling of persistent sadness and loss. It affects millions of people every year and can alter how an individual feels, thinks, and behaves and can lead to a variety of other emotional and physical problems. Research has indicated that clinical depression shows a direct correlation with abnormal brain activity. When a person's brainwaves are abnormal, their mood will often follow suit.

Short term solutions involving medication have their place, but this approach does not address the underlying brainwave abnormality.

Depression is Tough.

We all experience feelings of sadness from time to time, and this is normal and healthy.  But when the sadness persists or is not just temporary, there is a problem. This disorder is more complex than most people believe and can negatively affect every area of a person's life, from eating and sleeping to relationships, work, even your sense of identity.

Many Factors are
at Play.

Depression can develop from a complex combination of things. Everything from a person's brain chemistry, personality, even their  environment can play a role. In addition, stress often acts as an exacerbating factor. Your body responds by building barriers against the outside world and shutting down activity. This is how a person's biology tries to protect them when the strain of life becomes too much.  In brief stints, this is manageable, even normal. But when it lasts longer than two weeks, it has the potential to become a serious problem.

Can BrainCore Neurofeedback Help?

Long-term use of medication is almost always not the answer. Conversely, Neurofeedback is a drug-free, natural way to treat and even resolve depression. By measuring and analyzing the electrical activity in a person's brain, Neurofeedback practitioners can assess what areas of the brain are underactive and seek to boost activity. As those areas of the brain become more active, individuals begin to feel more positive in their mood. Over time the activity continues to pick up and stabilize, improving brainwave patterns. When function is improved, mood is improved and neurological harmony is established.
